Is Depression Affecting Your Life?
You Are Not Alone.
NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS
Depression has no boundaries or limitations as to onset, race, religion, social status, income level, or gender. It is more often diagnosed in females and there is often an increase of occurrence among ages 18-25. Depression can be diagnosed within seven subcategories, or it can be a single episode lasting only a few weeks to multiple recurrent episodes lasting several years. The cause of depression is a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors, with 20% of the risk being genetic.
WORLDWIDE IMPACT
Depression is a world-wide mental health concern. It affects more than 280 million people of all ages (about 3.5% of the global population).
DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS
Depressed people often are preoccupied with—or ruminate over—thoughts and feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt or regret, helplessness and hopelessness. Other symptoms of depression include poor concentration and memory, withdrawal from social situations and activities, reduced sex drive, irritability, and thoughts of death or suicide. Insomnia is also common.
DEPRESSION AFFECTS EVERYTHING
Major depression significantly affects a person's family and personal relationships, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health. A person having a major depressive episode usually exhibits a low mood which pervades all aspects of life, and creates the inability to experience pleasure in previously enjoyable activities.
Depression Creates a Cascade of Challenges
FEELING HOPELESS
Because depression is a mental state of low mood and an aversion to activity, it negatively affects motivation and creativity. Living with depression affects a person's thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and sense of well-being. As a result it affects one’s relationship at home, school, work, church and community. It is often devastating, with feelings of foreboding.
ALWAYS NUMB
Depression creates a feeling of numbness, often throughout the entire body as well as barrier to one’s sensitivity of heart and spirituality. It often inhibits one’s ability to share and express feelings of love and tender emotion.
Depression often triggers physical symptoms. Concurrent medical diagnosis compounds the depression.
Individuals yearn to return to feeling normal
(physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually).
They want a restoration of their prior normal functions of their minds, from their thoughts, perceptions, behaviors and relationships. Where possible they also want to be free from dependance upon medication.
I would very much recommend Brother Foote to anyone. He helped me in countless ways to help me combat my negative thoughts that I had.

Faith-Based Therapy For Depression
I’ve been a licensed therapist for 46 years and treated hundreds of clients. I assign and explain focused homework that aims to teach the skills necessary to help each client change. During therapy clients demonstrate both application and proficiency of the skills taught. They can read how other clients applied these same concepts and overcame their issues. This builds confidence and is evidenced based.
Restore optimism, increase energy,
and feel hope once again.
Let's work together.
About 20% of my clients use antidepressant medications which augment the control and management of their depression.
Because of counseling, I am better at giving myself grace, managing my emotions when I'm in pain, and finding positive things about my day to be grateful for.
