Faith-Based Therapy For
Pornography Addiction

Overcoming Compulsive Habits

Is Pornography Addiction Affecting Your Life?
You Are Not Alone.

PORNOGRAPHY KNOWS NO LIMITS

There are no boundaries for this addiction. I serve male and female clients between the ages of 10 and 75 years old.

PORNOGRAPHY BEHAVIORS

Many males begin with their first exposure by a casual curiosity as young as 6-11 years old. Between the ages of 10-12 stimulation and excitement from experimental self-stimulation overrides the guilt of sin. Between the ages of 12-18 these habits intensify, increase in frequency and deepen with a dependence upon lust. These behaviors are becoming more prevalent in young women as well. As a young man or woman prepares for a church mission, by confessing and working with the bishop, their frequency of this habit subsides. Sometimes the behavior ceases, and then remains dormant or only occurs infrequently while they serve. Without treatment, most often within 2 weeks to 2 months after returning from the mission, these former habits also return. Even though one may suppose that with marriage and the availability of “authorized sexual relations,” the habit would cease, most often they do not. Many times between the ages of 30-70+ these addictions run rampant, with both hearts and temple covenants being broken.

PORNOGRAPHY IS EVERYWHERE

Pornography is rampant and available anywhere you look throughout the entire world. Pornography is readily available on iPhones, laptops, computers, televisions, movies, videos, theaters, newspapers, magazines, books, billboards and signs.  Any location that is private, secret and secure, free from being seen or caught, becomes fair game. Annual worldwide profit from pornography is now $100 billion.

PORNOGRAPHY SYMPTOMS

This addiction generally begins either from curiosity, or that the client is a victim of abuse themself. Two hallmarks of this particular addiction are:

  1. It is always done in secrecy; therefore lies are deeply embedded.
  2. Gratification demands increased sensory stimulation to maintain the same level of fantasy and satisfaction.

Pornography Comes with Immense Guilt

FEELING SHAMEFUL

People want freedom from and control over their insatiable compulsive habit of addiction to lust. They want to be free from the fear of being caught, arrested, jail time, loss of employment, divorce, loss of family relationships, worry, anxiety and paranoia from living a double-life style. Individuals want to gain control over this horrific habit and addictive monster, and gain back their self-respect and confidence.

LOWERED SELF-ESTEEM

Pornography and masturbation addiction come with guilt, shame, embarrassment, worry, anxiety and paranoia from living a double-life style. Frequent and deepening lies run rampant to avoid being caught. Every time he/she lies, self-esteem and confidence lower. Individuals need to feel they can set a goal and keep it.

Each client entering therapy because of pornography addiction receives HOPE, encouragement and a proven plan that if followed, results in success.

They read over multiple other clients' personal stories and how each reached their individual goals. They reap the benefit of my 46 years of experience in helping hundreds of others succeed. They change from the inside out, with the help of Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Faith-Based Therapy For
Pornography Addiction

I’ve been a licensed therapist for 46 years and treated hundreds of clients. I assign and explain focused homework that aims to teach the skills necessary to help each client change. During therapy clients demonstrate both application and proficiency of the skills taught. They can read how other clients applied these same concepts and overcame their issues. This builds confidence and is evidenced based.

ASSESSMENT

Within the first few sessions, I take a thorough sexual history and assess the depth of entrapment in addiction. The client and I create an agreed upon treatment plan and set realistic and attainable goals. The client learns the sexual triggers or other contributing factors to his/her specific type of addiction.

LEARN

Clients are assigned very focused homework to help them achieve their specific goals. They are given weekly reading assignments to learn from, apply and then report on applications during therapy. They are given spiritual building assignments to help them increase their trust in and dependence upon their Savior as they seek and use His power.

CLASS

All clients who are addicted to pornography, in addition to therapy, are encouraged to attend a weekly ARP Class. In therapy they report their contributions, commitments and benefits from attendance.
